ACRTA is committed to providing transportation accessibility to those with disabilities who would otherwise not be able to travel on public transport.

We understand that there are a number of obstacles and barriers that can hinder a person with disabilities. Persons with disabilities deserve full access to facilities and services in the community.

In an effort to fill this need, ACRTA created a complementary paratransit service, known locally as UPLIFT; fixed route buses provide special accommodations for the disabled; the Transfer Station is ADA accessible; and more.

We understand that transportation to and from community events, shopping, and appointments are necessary to those who might not have access otherwise. We believe that persons with disabilities who use public transportation should not be at a disadvantage to others and commit to serving these patrons with compassion, integrity, and respect.

*The Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA) mandates equal opportunity in employment, transportation, telecommunications, and places of public accommodations for individuals with disabilities.
